THE NAZIS THAT GOT AWAY WITH IT!
Most people know - or think that they know what happened at the end of World War Two. Most people remember being taught, or for that matter still are being taught, the following:
A so called truth ... “The Allies won the war. The majority of the Nazis committed suicide or were rounded up and tried at Nuremburg before most of them were executed or imprisoned for war crimes and crimes against humanity. A few got away and went and hid in South America but most of these were caught later.”
But is this what really happened?
The short answer is ... sort of ... maybe ... and ... not really. Now depending on your preconceptions you may have already decided that we are rabid, attention seeking, conspiracy theorists about to deny the “holy” truth of accepted high school history and you will hit the back button on your browser and move on. (Your loss if you’re even partially interested in an alternative truth.) Perhaps, if you’re a little less “media” programmed than the ordinary person-in-the-street, you’ll read on. We hope that you read more. The reason is twofold. Firstly, we have genuinely new information about this subject that is published here first. Secondly, the more we look into “accepted” history the more we are shocked to discover how often it has been distorted to fit the beliefs, ideals and political desires of the “rulers in power”, past or present. |

Three of the NAZIS in this picture definately got away and two might have ... even if post World War II history tells us that they didn't. From Left to right; Aribert Heim, Heinrich Himler, Adolph Hitler, Josef Mengele and Martin Bormann.

Terry Pratchet, world renowned author of the Disc World series of books, describes this process as “Lies to Children”. We need you to understand this ... both teachers and historians need to eat. Teachers teach what society tells them to and historians write histories that are acceptable to society. By this we mean - won’t get them ridiculed or arrested (they need that paycheque as much as the next person). If you seek for truth then study philosophy! If you seek facts ... then go and look for yourself and beware of hungry historians. If you’re looking for somewhere to start then here is as good as any. (St. Claire 2009)
Thanks to the freedom of Information Act and the slow process of document declassification a new reality regarding the fate of the Nazi leaders, soldiers and scientists is emerging. In some cases it is speculation but in others it is now a matter of official record. To start with we’ve listed just some of the very many cases that definitely got away with it. We could build a thousand page website just on these mysteries. A larger less descriptive list can be found linked to this page. (It is genuinely worrying)
We’ve listed six detailed cases here – we could easily have listed very many more but writing up these cases could take years. |

(1) SS STURMBANNFÜHRER
(MAJOR) PAUL WERNER HOPPE
CONCENTRATION CAMP COMMANDER
(Seven years in jail then got on with his life!)
He was Commander of the concentration camps of Stutthof and Wöbbelin (1942 – 1945) and accused of involvement in the “death march” to Lebork 140 kilometres from Stutthof. There is no doubt that he signed the main order – Einsatzbefehl Number 3 on 25 January 1945 at 5.00am. A key question that has never been answered is whether or not he did issue the additional order – contrary to those that he had received – that the sick and infirm should join the march in terrible winter conditions. If he did then he is directly responsible for very many additional and unnecessary deaths.
He has also been strongly linked to the Massacre at Neustadt where further groups of prisoners were sent. It is estimated that over 10,000 prisoners died or were murdered on route. In April 1946 he was caught and detained at the recently revealed secret prison “Camp 165” located in Scotland. He managed to escape in 1948 and fled to Switzerland (1949), changed his name and worked there as a landscape gardener for three years before returning to Germany. |

He reverted to using his own name believing that people would no longer be interested in him but he was arrested and in 1953 sentenced to five years in jail. This was later increased to nine but he eventually he only served a total of seven. After he was freed he built a new life and worked inconspicuously for an insurance firm. He died in 1974.
Max Pauly, the first Commandant of Stutthof was tried for various crimes and executed. There are many that believe that Paul Werner Hoppe got off very lightly by comparison and had the case been prosecuted to fullest when it should have, he may have faced a punishment far more severe.

(2) STANDARTENFÜHRER (COMMANDER) GUNTER D'ALQUEN
CHIEF EDITOR OF THE DAS SCHWARZE KORPS & HEAD OF THE WERMACHT PROPAGANDA DEPARTMENT
(Went to work for the CIA then allowed home to Germany)
Gunter d’Alquen started his career in the Hitler Youth and later became a Youth Party leader in 1927. From an early age he had a passion for writing and used both the written and spoken word to communicate his beliefs and values. He joined the SS in April 1931 and within three years achieved the rank of Captain (Hauptmann). He joined the Völkischer Beobachter in 1932 as a political correspondent and began to write articles of a distinctly right wing nature. Clearly talented, his work was read by Heinrich Himmler who was so impressed that he placed him as the Editor of the Schwarze Korps – The official newspaper of the SS in 1935. By the outbreak of war the print run of the paper exceeded 700,000 copies per issue and d’Alquen had earned himself the reputation of being a “firebrand’ extolling the virtues of the new ideals. Over the next four years d’Alquen used his position to incite antagonism towards the Jews, moderate intellectuals and foreign opponents, reluctant leaders and any others that opposed the strengthening Nazi ideology. With the outbreak of war d’Alquen’s Nazi fervour saw him become a dedicated and enthusiastic SS war reporter himself.

His work was exceptionally valuable to the morale of the German war machine and towards the end of the conflict Himmler appointed him as head of the Wehrmacht Propaganda Department. During his career he was also responsible for several key works including the commissioned history of the SS. Over the years his works inflamed anti-Semitism and denigrated democracy in favour of benevolent dictatorship. He survived the war and was captured and interned in Britain. When Camp 165 was closed in 1948 he was “passed on” to the USA CIA where it is believed he worked on propaganda tactics during the Korean War. He certainly did something for the Allies as he was allowed to return to Germany. On the whole he was allowed to live in peace although he was made to pay two large de-Nazification fines (Berlin), one in 1955 and a further one in 1958. There is speculation that both of these were indirectly paid for by the US Government as part of their repatriation deal. He was apparently banned from ever working in journalism but otherwise allowed to live out his life in peace and quiet. He died in 1998 aged 88.
Other than three years in a British POW internment camp d’Alquen largely managed to avoid both jail and notoriety. Not bad for a man who actively inflamed racial hatred and helped establish a society where mass murder and genocide were considered by many to be acceptable.

(3) DR PAUL SCHRODER
CHIEF OF THE BALLISTICS BRANCH THE WAFFENPRUFAMT – PEENEMUNDE
(He worked for the British and USAF. May have been given a job with NASA)
Very little is known about Dr Paul Schroder (Schroeder) which is to be expected given that he worked on one of Hitler’s most secret weapons – the V2 missile. This is what we’ve been able to uncover. It appears that he did work at Peenemunde as Chief of the Ballistics Branch of the Waffenprufamt (Army weapons Department and the Army Experimental Station – Heeresversuchsanstaldt) Records indicate that a key activity of the department was to collect and analyse data from the various rocket tests and made recommendations for improvements. He resurfaces in the historical record as a British prisoner of war and seems to have been amenable to Allied offers of amnesty in exchange for scientific know how. From 1945 to 1948 he was interned in a special detention centre where he provided invaluable advice to British scientists. In 1948 he was granted special status due to his extraordinary knowledge regarding the specific technicalities relating to rocket projectiles and allowed to return to Germany. |

In 1950 he was granted an extension of his protection as a “Matchbox Consultant” (code for science advisor) in order to ensure that the Soviets did not get access to “The Greatest Mathematical Authority on Rockets Alive” according to the Science Advisor to the joint Committees. The next section is somewhat sketchy but it appears that he was considered too valuable to be left in Germany where he had been reduced to working on projects related to trains and was relocated to the USA where he first became a trusted advisor to the USAF and then in 1958 joined the newly formed American space organisation NASA. From this point onwards we have been unable to find a reference to this clearly brilliant scientist.
Although we haven’t been able to find the original source that the journalist has used – he is referred to in the Scotsman article as a “Nazi Zealot and Public Enemy”. (We did find a reference to Paul Schroeder being a personal aide to Hitler but suspect that this refers to a psychiatrist by the same name.) Whatever his political leanings he clearly received special treatment and largely escaped any formal justice.

(4) SS-ARZT (DOCTOR) JOSEF MENGELE
NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMP DOCTOR; THE ANGEL OF DEATH
(Ran away to South America and was never caught)
The psychological state of Joseph Mengele during his time at Auschwitz defies modern scientific explanation. He was certainly a megalomaniac, psychopath and a sociopath. Accounts of his behaviour describe classic aspects of Schizophrenia but without any of the “paranoia” often associated with this condition. His total lack of any kind of conscience and his obsession with the NAZI Ideal are indicative of an obsessive personality that is free of any kind of civilised restraint. This may be the perfect definition of “Evil”.
Those who were his victims, and those who knew him, agree that he utterly enjoyed the God-like power that he had over other people’s lives. Mengele was truly a product of NAZI society. Born in 1911, he was 21 when Hitler assumed power but since he was ten Mengele had been both aware of and attracted to the concept of the Aryan Ideal that had been spreading like a virus throughout the Germanic countries. It is strange and relevant to note that both Adolph Hitler and Joseph Mengele actually had many of the “so called” physiological Jewish characteristics themselves. |

SS-ARZT (DOCTOR) JOSEF MENGELE
|
|
|
Mengele was fascinated by the biological aspects of the medical field rather than the “healing” side of the profession. He completed two university degrees - one in medicine and the other in anthropology. His choice of subjects was already indicative of his view of human beings. In fact, Mengele achieved his doctorate (PhD) for a thesis that claimed to be able to determine a person’s genetic descent from the formation of their lower jaw. Naturally his racist inspired work came to the attention of the NAZI elite and in 1943 he was appointed as a Camp Doctor (SS-ARZT) at the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Although Mengele was not the most senior of the Doctors at the Camp, his enthusiasm and clinical lack of emotion soon earned him the respect and admiration of Dr Eduard Wirths who was the Chief Doctor (SS-Standortarzt) at the time. There is some evidence to suggest that while Wirths oversaw 20 “Camp Doctors”, he himself was relatively unable to actively pursue the cruelty and dispassionate experimentation that took place. In short, his motives were personal self advancement rather than the NAZI racial ideal. (Wirths committed suicide in 1945).
The crimes of Josef Mengele are so bizarre and horrific that they automatically overwhelm the senses of ordinary people. A substantial number of his “experiments” were carried out on twins and included injecting dye into their eyes as well as surgically attempting to sew children together in order to create conjoined twins. (Often without anaesthesia) Overtime, Mengele’s experiments became more-and-more horrifying. These included amputations, organ damaging surgery and skull impact testing. Perhaps the most horrific of this cruel doctor’s work involved exposing prisoners to various degrees of heat and measuring the time it took for them to develop 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns. In almost all cases prisoners remained exposed to the heat source until they died. The horror, agony and suffering that these people experienced is impossible to imagine. Any ordinary person should feel a deep and soul rendering revulsion to even read about what once happened. Truly these unfortunates were exposed to Hell on Earth! The crimes of Josef Mengele could fill thousands of pages.
After the war Mengele managed to escape immediate arrest and went into hiding as a farm hand in Bavaria. By 1949 the net was closing in and an old friend, Hans Sedlmeier, allegedly arranged his escape to Argentina in South America through the ODESSA network. Over the following decades Mengele managed to stay one step ahead of both the official authorities and the various assassins sent after him. He was never captured and is believed to have died in 1979 aged 68 years old. For 34 years he evaded his pursuers. It is estimated that more than 3,000 people died or were maimed as a result of Mengele’s personal actions. While it is true that Mengele may have spent many years living in fear of being captured it is also “very” true to say that any discomfort he may have suffered was nothing compared to the anguish experienced by just one of his very many victims.

(5) SS-ARZT (DOCTOR) ARIBERT FERDINAND HEIM
NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMP DOCTOR;
DR DEATH, THE BUTCHER OF MAUTHAUSEN
(Also ran away to South America and still hasn’t been caught. Investigators believe he may still be alive - 2009)
Best described as a monster in human form, it is claimed that Dr. Aribert Heim was responsible for some of the most barbaric and inhuman atrocities carried out during WWII. Unfortunately many of the references to this sadistic doctor are in German, Spanish and Polish thus making it difficult to present an independent detailed case. However, this is what we have been able to discover – largely from Wikipedia. He was born in the town of Bad Radkersburg in Austria-Hungary (28.06.1914) and was the child of a local policeman and his wife. In Graz he studied medicine and after graduation in Vienna he joined the SS after the union between Austria and German in 1938. Shortly after the outbreak of WWII he joined the Waffen SS as a Volunteer and quickly rose to the rank of Hauptsturmführer (Captain). Heim was transferred to the Mauthausen-Gusen in October 1941. It was here that he was given the name Doctor Death and increasingly abandoned any pretence of “healing” his patients.

SS-ARZT (DOCTOR) ARIBERT FERDINAND HEIM
|
|
|
By October 1941 that majority of his efforts were experimental and it is clear that he had long since lost any empathy or sympathy for the inmates, if indeed he had any in the first place. According to an article published in the British newspaper – The Telegraph – he worked closely with Dr Wasicky and together they conducted experiments that involved injecting their victims with different solutions including phenol, cyanide, air and gasoline to see which would kill them the quickest. The victim was most often injected directly into the heart but other organs were also used in the tests. (Dr. Wasicky was tried for war crimes immediately after the war and was sentenced to death in 1946.)
According to various sources Heim also experimented with pain tolerance and would remove the organs of inmates without anaesthesia. One of the most recounted stories is the case of a young athlete that was sent to Heim with a foot inflammation. Instead of helping the youth Heim anesthetised him removed both his kidneys, performed a castration and then cut off and boiled the man’s head until only the skull remained. The reason – the doctor admired the victims perfect teeth and want to put the skull on display. Over the next years and until the end of the war The Butcher of Mauthausen would work in several other camps and continue his barbaric research and torture. On the 15th of March 1945 Heim was arrested by US Soldiers and for a period sent to a prisoner of war camp. However, it is believed that Heim had a habit of taking his papers with him whenever he left a concentration camp and as a result his involvement was overlooked until many years later. After his release he worked as a gynaecologist in Baden-Baden. However, as the years passed investigators began to uncover references to Dr. Death and Heim was interviewed several times during the 1950’s but claimed mistaken identity. However it is clear that he was becoming increasingly concerned and made preparations to disappear including both financial and legal arrangements that have never been fully published. According to reports in 1962 he telephoned home and learned that the police were waiting for him. Assuming that they had finally been issued with an arrest warrant he appears to have driven through France and Spain and then caught a ship to Morocco. He eventually travelled through Libya to Egypt where he settle and became known as Tarek Farid Hussein or “Uncle Tariq”. Although investigators have pursued him since his disappearance he seems to have managed to evade them and stay one step ahead. Fairly recent reports have placed him in Spain and later Denmark.
As recently as 2007 the Austrian minister of Justice, Maria Berger, repeatedly stated that she is not prepared to accept impunity for NAZI war criminals as a consideration for their age. To emphasis this she offered a reward for key missing NAZIS such as Aribert Heim and Alois Brunner. At the time of writing this Heim would be 95 presuming he is still alive and so it is fair to say that he has evaded any kind of meaningful justice or punishment. (There are claims that he was captured an assassinated by “Owl” agents in 1982 but currently little credit is attributed to these reports.)

(6) SS STANDARTENFÜHRER WALTER RAUFF
(INVENTOR OF THE MOBILE GAS CHAMBER, POLICE CHIEF, MURDERER, SPY)
(Escaped from Rimini after the war, became a spy officer in the middle East, settled in Chile, died of natural causes in May 1984)
He first served in the German navy and by 1936 had been advanced to the rank of Lieutenant. In 1937 he joined his friend Reinhard Heydrich who was already working for Heinrich Himmler. Rauff was assigned the responsibility for preparing the SS and its security division, The Sicherheitsdienst for war. Shortly after the outbreak of WWII Rauff served as the Captain of a corvette but in April 1941 he resigned his post and returned to work for the Reich Security Division the RSHA. His initial focus was the development of the Mobile Gas Chamber or “Gaswagen” which he concentrated on until 1942. This was a particularly unpleasant and simple way to murder groups of people. Essential the vehicle was a prison truck that once loaded was sealed and the fumes from the exhaust directed into the rear of the van. Victims died slowly of carbon monoxide poisoning inhalation. Rauff later assigned the Gaswagen project to SS Chemist August Becker.

|
|
|
Over the next three years Rauff was in charge of persecution and extermination projects in both North Africa and later in Italy where he was in charge of the SS and the Sicherheitsdienst. It was during this time that he developed a reputation for “utter ruthlessness” and “indiscriminate murder”. Some sources place the number of people that died as a consequence of his actions at nearly 100,000. He was arrested in Milan (Italy) on the 30th of April 1944 by Allied soldiers where he was described as an unrepentant Nazi and was recommended for execution or, at the very least, life imprisonment. He quickly escaped from the Rimini internment camp and made his way to the Middle East where he allegedly worked for Syrian Intelligence during the military dictatorship of Colonel Husni Al Zai’m. After the Za’im regime was ousted by Sami Al Hinnawi in a coup d’état and Rauff was arrested he felt Damascus to no longer be safe. At the first opportunity to fled back to Italy via Beirut and then travelled to Ecuador in 1949 and then Chile in 1958. (South America) He may have served as an advisor to President Pinochet. It is during this time that he had at least some contact with the American CIA. A Chilean warrant for his arrest was issued in 1961 and he was briefly detained by Chilean police in 1962 but freed by the Supreme Court of Chile five months later (Based on Chili’s 15 year Statute of Limitations.) Several requests were made over the years for his extradition but none of them were ever granted. Rauff died of natural causes (lung disease) in 1984 in Santiago aged 78. It is apparent from those who knew him, and from various interviews he permitted, that Walter Rauff remained a committed Nazi for his entire life. Definitely one that got away.

There are three mysteries ... Who really got away, how did they do it and what happened to them? As more-and-more papers are declassified it is becoming increasingly clear that many NAZIS escaped the full force of justice for the war-related crimes they instigated or committed. The 2009 revelations regarding the Scottish Camp 165 only goes to prove this point. We have much more on this subject and will publish it when we can.
Ridiculous as it sounds to people that have been taught for decades that the Top Nazi Leadership perished - it may be that 9 of the 10 survived and that at least seven then lived relatively normal, if secret lives. This will soon be new Aquiziam section!
It now seems clear that at the end of WWII the Allies were more concerned about the emerging Russian threat than they were about punishing the NAZIS that had survived the conflict. Most importantly, they wanted every piece of political and scientific knowledge they could get and were prepared to sacrifice morality to get it. Were they right to make this decision? Is it better to protect the future than to punish the past? You decide! |
