PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE STIPERSTONES

Located 18 kilometres south of Shrewsbury, in the county of Shropshire, are the Stiperstones, a lofty ridge a with series of rocky outcrops that look as if they have punctured through the rolling green hills that are common in this part of England. Known as Striped Quartzite Tors they are some of the oldest rocks in Britain dating back 500 million years. It's not just their rarity that makes them unusual it's the many legends that surround them. From tales of an angry devil to the mysterious of a fairy princess and her wild Saxon lover the Stiperstones has them all. The key 'stones' are, Shepherd's Rock, the Devil's Chair, The Rock, Manstone Rock and Beacon, Cranberry Rock, and Nipstone Rock.
